The Netravati Trek is a popular trek when it comes to the South Indian trekking

originates from the Bangrabalige Valley, Yelaneeru Ghat in Kudremukh.

There are many legendary narrations to the birth of the river Netravati. In one of
the tales, it is believed that the Almighty who incarnated as Varaha Avatar in the
Dasavatharam protected the land immersed in floods by raising it and relieved by
this the ground in a state of bliss shed happy tears which is considered as the birth
of Netravati. According to the localites of this place, the river was first discovered
by the sages in the famous pilgrimage place Dharmasthala where they came to
collect some holy water as the river flows through this place and is considered very
sacred among the Indian rivers. Also the Bandaje falls here is formed by the
tributary of the river Netravati.
